Frequently Asked Questions

To join a Group, please click the “Start Here” button on this page. A Student Team Staff member will contact you soon. We have tons of Groups with all types of students with various interests and activities so there is a group for every student!

Throughout the school year, Groups are a place where 6th-12th grade students have fun discovering their faith with a circle of friends. Every Group is led by a team of Coaches, our incredible adult volunteers, who help guide students through the Bible and allow space for great discussions. Students make their Group grow by investing relationally in their friends and inviting them to join. In their Group, students are noticed, listened to, and encouraged, which creates a sense of belonging and a trusted space for spiritual growth. That's why we want to invite every student to be a part of a Group!

LEARN MORE ABOUT STUDENT GROUPS

Groups can meet at church, in homes, or online! Most Groups have around 15 people and meet for an hour or less. The first part is for catching up, hanging out, and having fun. Next, everyone gathers together for biblical teaching and for occasional worship. Then, students discuss the Bible. Most discussions end with a time for prayer, and then students head home!

Students participating in a Group this semester will learn biblical truths about living out their faith, the value of God's Word, and their identity as Jesus-followers. During their time together, students will engage in a short teaching by our Student Team and read directly from the Bible to discover truths about these important topics.

We believe adult Coaches are the primary catalyst for disciple-making. Coaches walk alongside students as they develop their relationship with Jesus Christ and encourage them to put their faith into action. Coaches are expected to attend their Group consistently, invest in students, and model how to navigate discussions. We require all adult volunteers to submit an application, pass a background check, go through an interview process, complete a sexual abuse awareness training, participate in Coach evaluations, and attend regular volunteer trainings.  Please contact a member of the Student Team Staff for more information about serving.

The most critical role in Groups is Student Drivers. Student Drivers are willing to use their influence to invest in their friends and invite them to their Group. Student Drivers work together with the Student Team Staff, Coaches, and other Student Drivers to consistently invite new friends to Groups, plan fun activities, and help lead spiritual discussions with their peers. Please contact a member of the Student Team Staff for more information about serving or starting your own Group.
